May we be sealed in the Book of Life.
May our names be written by G-d in the Book of Life.
Today is Yom Kippur – from sunset last evening to sunset this evening – 24 hours of contemplation.
We see our names written in the Book of Life & G-d.
Today most holy day of the year.

Our place in heaven & our “place in the family of things”.

To forgive, to love.
A decision point in a time of crisis.
We ask forgiveness, we offer forgiveness.
And we say….
May we be sealed in the Book of Life.
May our names be written by G-d in the Book of Life.

A poem today from Mary Oliver
Our devotion to prayer.
Lord God, mercy is in your hands, pour / me a little,” she writes, in “Six Recognitions of the Lord.” “Praying” urges the reader to “just / pay attention, then patch / a few words together and don’t try / to make them elaborate, this isn’t / a contest but the doorway / into thanks.”

“Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting—
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.”

“May I be the tiniest nail in the house of the universe,
tiny but useful,”

“Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.”
