Something is coming, something is about to appear!
Winter Solstice, the new Light, the Holy Child, the Light of the Soul. At Winter Solstice, the Light begins to increase in the northern hemisphere.
There are four weeks to Advent. Each week a different virtue.
The first week is that of Hope.
The Soul responds to the hope we sense & feel.

We make an Advent wreath with evergreens, with four colored candles (3 violet, 1 rose). Each Sunday night a new candle is lit. The candles represent a light glowing in the solemn darkness.
We light our candles in the dark half of the year awaiting the light half of the year & the new Light of Winter Solstice. Rituals calm humanity, connect humanity to the seasons, to the earth & to the heavens. This is our Liturgy – meaning the “work of the people throughout the year”. Humanity, made of Light, responds to Light.

“When man (Sanskrit, the thinker) functions as a soul, when humanity functions as a Soul, humanity then heals; stimulates and vitalizes; one received & thus transmits the spiritual forces of the universe, and all harmful emanations and destructive forces find, in the human kingdom, a barrier.
