A job well done.
Today I received word in the early morning that a friend had died.
“Called back.”
I am sad & contemplative about this event.
As I contemplated this unexpected
death of a friend, I asked myself…
Was I kind to him, did I care for & love him & respect him
& listen to him while he was here for his short while on the earth?
And I remember these words….
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:2, King James
Today I received word that a friend died.
“Called back” –
It was early morning when the message came through.
His name is Mark Ray, (26 April 1954 – 09 Jan 2024), a Theosophist, an astrologer (traditional, both western & vedic).
He had just completed a long help dream to visit India – visiting the blue Nilgiris hills of SW India – the place where the Rishi Agastya who is Master Jupiter resides.
Note: At his death, Mark had transiting Jupiter on his natal Sun. Life expanded into the field of Love, Ray 2.
On his trip to India, Mark had with him a good friend, Ludger, who, quite like an angel, accompanied him.
Mark left on a plane from Seattle to India a month ago. After visiting the Nilgiri blue hills, he two traveled to several cities & spiritual group gatherings throughout India.
Then it was time to return home again to the states.
At each way station, at each airport, Mark texted Ludger about his travels. His messages are so heart felt, so informative, so open and transparent. There was love in his messages…words sent to one’s best friend. Mark mentioned stop overs, and late planes, and schedules of his flights. The two friends didn’t get to say goodbye formally. Mark said “we’ll meet soon on zoom.” Mark loved India. He said he was never afraid walking the streets of India. And he lost his hat, and he was tired of eating rice. And he said as he neared home that there was a blizzard over the mountains so he would be delayed returning home. He said he was sad to leave all the kind people he met in India. And that he had bronchitis while in India (Taurus & Gemini people need to take extra special care with their lungs these days).
His last message – Then he wrote from Frankfurt:
“I caught my last flight and am about to take off. Seattle in nine hours.”
Upon his arrival back to Seattle (Aug. 9th), quite unexpectedly, it seems there was an unexpected change of plans. Mark took another “flight” – this time to the “subtle planes of Light.”
Mark was my friend. I wanted to know him more.
He was a kindly man, would be 70 this year for his next birthday.
A young man actually. A Taurus – consistently and steadily working. He was a kind man. I miss him and I am sad.
Thoughts
We walk this path on Earth together.
Seeing friends here & there.
Then suddenly, one day, one or more of us is “called back.”
And for moments we are sad.
Then we realize our brother is free & happy.
On his next journey.

He had the things he needed for his next journey.
He had prepared himself. His Soul had.

Death is an ordered process.
It is an interlude.
And so, when the lessons were all learned
In the classroom called Earth….
the Word sounds forth….a word of withdrawal…
That the form has served its purpose
The principle of mind then organizes itself
Hearing the Word (the word of Return)
And then repeats the word,
The waiting form responds
And drops away.
And again the words….
Thou no longer needs the form.
Your work complete, your watch over.
And the Soul stands free.
Death is an ordered process
An interlude
When all the lessons were learned.
A job well done, the watch over….

At Death – the Disciple Returns Home
A call ushers forth to be With the Light eternal,
To Transform what has gone before, into a Being of Light.
The mysterious Beauty within us, our Spirit of Life,
Returns home once again.
Peace to all the families & friends of those who have died.
