Humanity Laboring in the Fields of the Lord – Each Sign’s Labor

Monday, September 7, 2026, is Labor Day. Leo (self-identity) moon, Virgo (daily labor and service) Sun. Recognizing humanity laboring in the “fields of the Lord” seeking surcease from its suffering and injustice.

The Labor Movement historically is part of humanity’s search for freedom and justice.

Labor unions, or organized labor, arose in the mid-1800s with a set of values (less and less respected these days)—that of solidarity; the good of the whole; mutual assistance; equality; esprit de corps; support for families; disdain for elitism, and that democracy and individual rights do not stop at the workers’ gate. Employees and laborers united for mutual protection and just rights.

The Labor Union movement developed specific tools—education (supporting freedom), the strike and strength in unity – in order to “wrest from monied interests decent wages, better living conditions and leisure, the right of every human.” There are spiritual and educational aspects of the labor movement, oft neglected and unknown. Labor Day celebrations today are lost in the midst of summer’s ending and forgotten in the chaos of ignorance and different ideologies.

The Labors of Hercules and the Labor Movement have much in common.

The “Labors of Hercules” are twelve mythological tests and trials of immense strength (spiritual initiations), while the “labor movement” is the historical and ongoing fight for workers’ rights. The two share a connection through the heavy and difficult nature of both struggles.

The labor movement is a social and political effort by working people. Instead of fighting mythological monsters, workers united into trade unions to fight for fair wages, safer working conditions, shorter working hours (such as the eight-hour workday), the right to strike and collectively bargain.

Just as Hercules faced monsters like the Hydra that grew back heads, unions often face deep-pocketed corporations and harsh anti-union laws that seem impossible to overcome.

It takes human endurance, courage, persistence and the grueling process of trying to bring order and justice to a chaotic world. To reorient a corrupt system, the Aquarian waters of life must be directed towards cleaning out the “Augean stables” (Aquarian Labor). Both are Herculean tasks for humanity.

On Labor Day, we recognize and honor all the labors of humanity. We are all in service, we are all laboring. And so, what are the labors of each sign? What are we each to cultivate?

 Aries

March 21 – April 19:  Those who work with you seek your mentorship, leadership and direction. You’re the ideas, ideals, initiated thoughts and structures needed that lights their way. This is not a compliment. It’s a responsibility of leadership, intelligently directed and offered with love. To maintain your task it’s important to focus on health and a simple diet. Possibly you need more calcium/magnesium for calmness. With all relationships, don’t be harsh. Your labor – to be a Hero.

 Taurus

Taurus
April 20 – May 20:  The work and responsibilities continue to arrive. You tend to everything needed, forging ahead with Vulcan’s (Soul ruler) help. Vulcan is Venus’s husband. He has another name – that of Hephaestus. He tends the fires with tools of iron. He fashions gold out of lead, creates a forward momentum, allows for optimism (a little), drives you toward future goals. On your mind is always how to create and sustain community. It takes more than a village. Your labors – to illuminate.

 Gemini

Gemini
May 21 – June 20:  Home and all things domestic continue to matter more and more. How you are living, with whom, where you live, its environment, each room gardens and then the thoughts of homesteading and community. How to create one. These enduring questions sustain you. However, movement forward is still an issue. How to do these things is a question. In daily life, continue to care for those around you with compassion and humor. You’re to serve with a wise heart. Venus is your companion. She greets you with a pale-yellow light. Your labor – loving genius.

 Cancer

Cancer
June 21 – July 22:  Home and family too, like Gemini, become increasingly filled with questions. Such as how to bring greater harmony, how to tend to responsibilities and work with more order and ease. You try to pass on traditions to other members of the family. However, so many tasks interfere. Restrict how much work you’re doing for others or exhaustion ensues. An acupuncture treatment is most likely needed and chiropractic, too. You’re the one at home needing tender loving care. Sit and rest a while. Your labor – to nurture and nourish.

 Leo

July 23 – August 22:  Are you finding yourself going out and about, creating adventures, pilgrimages and having a greater relationship with the world at large? There is also a call for deeper relationships with siblings, neighbors and close friends. Leos can tend only to themselves and this creates loneliness. Wherever there’s an imbalance, ask questions, listen, assess, speak from the heart and forgive. Saturn, the Dweller on the Threshold (of divinity), is asking you to review past beliefs before a new mental attitude can form. You can do this. Your labor – the loving joyful leader.

 Virgo

August 23 – September 22:  In your daily life, have the intention to focus on facts not fictions, fantasies, or wishful thinking. Facts are the foundation of a clear thinker and later, an effective and intelligent leader. Facts are truth, they help uplift emotional disturbances, disappointments and confusing changes. Saturn asks that you consider what is of value to you, what expands your creative self-identity, and what provides both emotional and intellectual inspiration. You are in  a state of moving transformation. Your labor – world healer.

 Libra

September 23 – October 22:  You seek a sense of belonging. Is it here, there or somewhere? You ask. Assessing your talents and gifts you wonder when and where they can be used with less stress and limitation. You know you are here to serve, to help and to heal. A change of appearance may come forth due to new confidence and a desire to be more harmonious. You are a bit mysterious now. Careful with too much exercise. Careful with bones and ligaments and moving too fast. Venus is watching over you. Your labor is to be a harmonizer.

 Scorpio

October 23 – November 21:   Notice your concern with how others see and assess you in daily life. Notice a possible sense of criticism – of self, others or events in the world. Life, day to day, may need a new assessment as to how it’s organized and ordered. It’s important to move from an idea to a movement to action.  Contact old friends, create business opportunities. There’s a community or group needing your research abilities. The present work situation may shift about. This will pass. Maintain composure. Your task – the disciple.

 Sagittarius

November 22 – December 21:  Lots of work has been offered and it’s pretty good and you’re well-liked, but you possibly could move quickly into exhaustion and overwork. At times you feel restricted, constrained and controlled by a monetary need or situation. It will be important to rest more, to slow down, to take regular vitamins and minerals in order to reestablish physical health and harmony.  Your laughter and happiness create a magnetic, light-filled aura people are attracted to. Your labor – the truth teller.

 Capricorn

December 22 – January 19:  Make contact with those you care for who are both near and far away. Your communication and contact create in others harmony, happiness and loving intelligence. As your mind ponders future goals, include religious and spiritual as well as physical, emotional and intellectual considerations. Religion stabilizes and sustains us, for its energies are greater than we are. Prayer stabilizes us, too. As you continue to transform recite the Great Invocation daily and with family before bedtime. Your labor – friend to everyone, the visionary.

 Aquarius

January 20 – February 18:  Your focus on money is correct in terms of the future. Gather it, count it, safeguard it, hide it and put it safely away. You have many renaissance gifts. Offer your gifts in exchange for what you need. Be aware of and value your creative potential. Daily routines may need changing, rearranging. More rest is needed too. Your vitality (life force) is based upon adequate daily rhythms, pure food and water and nightly rest. A bit of a slow-down is needed for equilibrium. You’re an excellent sport that uplifts those who are down. You share. Your labor – the Server and friend to all.

 Pisces

February 19 – March 20:  Walking that rugged precipice of reality, not remembering today or yesterday or the moment before, not seeing tomorrow either, it’s best to summon faith that there is indeed a Path to be walked upon, although you know it’s invisible. Some Pisces may receive a marriage proposal. Some will enter a business partnership. Some are called to teach and to present themselves to the world. Some Pisces are tired and exhausted. There will be a gradual moving forward soon (and courage summoned). The forest will become the trees of knowledge and right time and opportunity. Create Findhorn West. It’s time now. Your labor – the Savior.
