End of the Day – the shofar sounds.
Conclusion of the Holy Day –
The shofar (ram’s horn) is sounded—one triumphant, long blast, the holy day is over. Having forgiven & been forgiven, we are confident that G‑d has sealed our names in the Book of Life – that we may have a wonderful new year: a year of happiness, prosperity and health. We hear & the words “L’Shana Haba’ah” – “Next year in Jerusalem.”
This is a traditional declaration sung at the end of Passover & Yom Kippur, expressing a heart-felt hope for redemption, freedom, justice, the end of human oppression, and a return to the spiritual and physical homeland- a spiritual destination. May peace & goodness follow us in all of our days ahead.
The Gates of Repentance are closed for the year.
It’s nightfall now – on the table a braided candle, a cup of wine, with sweet smelling spices. love, Risa
