Esoteric Astrology as news for week September 23 – 29, 2026

A Dwelling in Nature – Autumn, Libra & Choice, Krishna & Arjuna (a story).

Autumn and the Soul half of the year begins. The Earth crosses the celestial equator and the Sun slips into Libra. Archangel Michael assumes protection for the Earth throughout autumn, until winter solstice, when the holy child (new light) is born.

Friday is the Jewish festival of Sukkot – temporary dwellings created in the elements, remembering 40 years’ in the desert, where survival meant total dependence and praise of G-d.

Saturday is the harvest moon, autumn’s first full moon (Saturn nearby). As autumn begins, the Soul half of the year also begins. The spiritual half of the year begins in Aries.

Libra, the first sign of autumn, is a cardinal (action) air (intelligent) sign, calling us to create inner balance and harmony. Libra is also the sign of “choosing, of choice.” Libra calls us to choose the life of the personality or the life of the Soul. It is the story of Krishna (teacher) and his student, Arjuna. Arjuna (student) awoke one morning to the sounds of a great battle. Krishna, the Teacher, told Arjuna (aspirant/student), that he would need to enter the battle and thus to choose a side to fight on. Arjuna observed the battle taking place, recognized it was his family fighting on both sides. Turning to his Teacher, Arjuna informed Krishna that he was not going into the battle because he was a “pacifist.”

I’m sure Krishna laughed at his student’s righteous stance. However, Krishna explained to Arjuna that the two sides of the battle signify the personality and the Soul. That in Libra, we must choose where we will stand and what we identify with – will we remain within the personality-building stage or will we rise up to the Soul (on the mental plane) wherein we then enter into Scorpio? Should we courageously choose Scorpio, we then meet the Nine Tests of Mars, experience death of the personality, and over time, become the Disciple. Then we enter into deeper, higher, more complex choices and the Path, razor-edged, is fraught with complexities.

With Libra (and Sun, Moon, Rising Librans) there is always a consistent tension of opposing forces seeking harmony and balance. A battle between the lower and higher selves plays out within the personality. Libra is tested ceaselessly until right judgment and the appropriate use of Love is cultivated. Each sign has its difficulties and accompanying gifts, each a facet in the diamond of the zodiac.

Aries	March 21 – April 19: You think about loving your work and those you work with, and communication is good with everyone (though you must battle against critical thoughts) and you seek to help others more, which inspires them, and then work is even better and more fulfilling and loyalty toward you emerges, and then new goals are considered and workflow increases and so does success. It’s like a river flowing harmoniously for everyone. It begins with you steering the boat to a safe harbor.
Taurus	*April 20 – May 20:* You may not be romantic outwardly because of so much work to be done to teach humanity and to ensure its future. It doesn’t mean you feel less love. You are the loving heart of the zodiac (Venus). It’s just that you’re focused, determined and disciplined and must follow your own instincts and intuition. True and real relationships understand your tasks for saving humanity. You have been tending to others non-stop for months. You must rest now. As the world goes on.
Gemini	*May 21 – June 20:* Mental, emotional and physical stability are concerns now and so you must assess, tend to, create and call forth what is not only safe but also what comforts and offers you security. If help is needed, ask for it. We are in an era of change, destruction, hope and opportunity. Soon it will be time to make plans. Unusual plans. Something is ending. Something new is about to arrive. What do you sense they may be?
Cancer	*June 21 – July 22:* You feel the need to communicate. You realize everyone has a gift and if you ask enough and they share enough, their gifts emerge and you recognize and praise them. You, too, have important and vital gifts and when you come out from under your crab shell, communicate and share with us, then we see your gifts too and we learn from them. You are very perceptive now, more than usual. However, something saddens you? What could it be?
Leo	*July 23 – August 22:* Is there a polarity between you and groups, between your creativity and leadership and that of others? Is there opposition, some limitation? You think you have to choose one over the other. Do you? Oppositions are actually only different sides of one coin. Eventually oppositions come together, integrating, unifying and synthesizing. What is occurring that seems in opposition? Is it spiritual or material factors, self/other’s needs or being worthy or not worthy? Is it psychological? What is happening in your astrology chart?
Virgo	*August 23 – September 22:* You want to talk about issues, values and ideas you deem very important – things not often communicated. You want to share your beliefs, how you want to serve, your new emerging identity, all and everything you hope, wish and plan for. Who is listening? You’re practical, orderly, and organized in your approach. These are significant and central to how you need to see yourself. A new sense of identity comes forth. A flowering of self in bloom.
Libra	September 23 – October 22: Plans created long ago in seed form are now slowly unfolding, being recognized and implemented. I hope that all that you wish for is easily available. I hope for you solitude that leads to rest, kindnesses that lead to forgiveness. Some issues, quite hidden, are not ready for the light of day. For now, you’re organizing your inner self so you can order and organize your outer self – life, relationships and environments. Are you dreaming a lot? Is there a dream you wish could come true?
Scorpio	October 23 – November 21: Plan to have a social gathering and get together of friends and acquaintances you care about. Include local organic and seasonal foods and cook together. On tables, scatter several interesting books around, choose music that creates a salon-like setting. Suggest a subject to discuss, like how to create communities (the steps), what people would be attracted, the focus and purpose of community and how it would prepare everyone for the new times to come should everything in life change? Criticism isn’t invited (and quelled).
Sagittarius	*November 22 – December 21:* Do all that you can to create compromise between you and co-workers. Things small can escalate into things quite large, moving into confusion and conflict. This includes good things, so sense, understand and provide those around you with what they need and abundance follows – reflected back to you in terms of recognition and rewards. Be a bit dashing as when performing acts of kindness. Be abundant, too. You’ll become even more attractive. The Sun and Jupiter are always shining upon you.
Capricorn	December 22 – January 19: You could feel overwhelmed by too many events, tasks and responsibilities calling for your time, care and tending. Be sure to eat adequately, lots of protein, and in a timely manner. Sometimes you’ve been “on” for so long your off button is broken. The work you do has much to do with abilities you’ve succeeded at before. When this cycle is over something else will be offered. You create a nourishing environment for others and many look to you for information, kindness and love. You are valuable. You are a disciple.
Aquarius	January 20 – February 18: Soon (or now), you may need to discuss finances, daily events, schedules, etc. with someone, perhaps a partner, family or friend. Speak with candor and in a neutral tone. Do not be frightened to discuss finances. Information provides everyone with knowledge. Speak the truth. It holds you and those listening. Ask for teamwork, understanding and consideration. In your daily life add a bit of humor as things change and then change some more. Humor softens anxiety and fear. What is your favorite joke?
Pisces	February 19 – March 20: The focus is on relationships, close and intimate. You find yourself of many minds – one seeks to create harmony and goodwill. Another to increase discipline and efficiency and the third to forge ahead with personal ideas and plans. It seems they are all in states of opposition. Ponder deeply on them, visualize, and eventually a synthesis comes forth. Draw a triangle and place each one at a point in the triangle. See harmony flowing into the triangle. The time is perhaps not yet for all three. But it will be soon.
