Our wounds & our healing.
Chiron retrogrades today.
Who/what is Chiron? Where is it located in our charts?
How do we work with Chiron? Understanding Chiron.
Our wounds, our healing.
Chiron retrogrades today.
Sunday, July 23, 2023. First day of Leo Sun.
The first full day of Leo Sun.
The first day we begin to consider our creativity.
Coming from the heart which is all that matters.
Our self identity (Aries) is furthered by awareness of our creativity.
Thus….we cultivate our talents, abilities & gifts.
As Aquarius unfolds, we will be called to offer those gifts & abilities, creating the new culture & civilization.
“I AM”, we say, “And I know myself to be by what I create.” (Leo)

The Sun in Leo illuminates our creativity.
Moon is in Libra today – balancing & harmonizing ourselves.
This afternoon, Mercury squares Uranus – things may not occur as we expect them to be. We choose a different action or direction.

Chiron’s retrograde.
Chiron – the immortal centaur who gave up his life so that another may have life. The centaur of pain & suffering.
Chiron is located in Sagittarius in the sky.
Chiron is the immortal centaur & also represents the “wounded healer”.
Chiron begins its retrograde today, Sunday.
Retrograding through summer, fall, Advent, Christmas – well into December – Chiron is retrograde till December 27.
From 27 degrees Aries back to 17 degrees Aries, Chiron retrogrades.
Chiron retrogrades will help us further understand ourselves.
And so…the question….
Where are these degrees in everyone’s chart.
These areas of life can feel sensitive & perhaps wounding.
We will attempt to heal wounds in these areas of life.

Chiron is a famous centaur from Greek mythology. Chiron was a teacher and healer who taught great warriors like Jason and Achilles. However, despite being the “wisest and most just of all the centaurs” (the story in Homer’s Iliad), Chiron, though a physician, was unable to heal himself.
Chiron was accidentally wounded in battle by Hercules.
Though Chiron could share his knowledge with leaders, warriors and kings, preparing them to survive battle, he could not heal himself. Chiron eventually realized he could only be relieved of his suffering by offering up his immortality to another. Chiron offered up his immortality so that Prometheus could be released. This offering, his life for another, became Chiron’s ultimate healing.
Chiron was gifted in philosophy, medicine, astrology & all the arts. He was the Teacher of Asclepiis – a great doctor. But it was Chiron who taught Asclepius.
Chiron was an expert in medicine and is credited with the discovery of botany, pharmacy, and medicine. Chiron taught young Greek heroes all the skills he had been taught by his foster father, Apollo. Chiron’s real father was Cronos (Zeus) but both parents abandoned their son, Chiron.
Chiron was found by Apollo, who chose to take the orphan in. Apollo taught the young centaur the art of the lyre, archery, medicine, and prophecy & Apollo’s sister, Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, taught Chiron how to wield a bow and hut. Chiron, though abandoned, grew up to be well-balanced, peaceful, kind, and intelligent due to the way he was raised by the two siblings. Due to his upbringing Chiron became a leader of the centaurs (a wild bunch) and their Teacher.

Chiron, later in life, was forced to leave his home atop Mt. Pelion (N. Greece), fleeing to safety in Laconia (southern Greece). It was in Laconia where Chiron was wounded in his heel by poisoned arrows. The wound was deep with unbearable pain. To relieve this pain, Chiron realized he must renounce his immortality. And so he offered his life in exchange for the life of Prometheus, a Titan, champion of humanity, who was scheduled to die because he “stole the fire from heaven” (metaphor for bringing the wisdom teachings, the fire from heaven, to humanity).

If we look at the glyph of Chiron, it looks like a disabled sign/wheel chair. If we look at placement of Chiron in our charts – the sign and astrological house (area of life) of where Chiron is in our chart….we can discover & learn about the nature of our deepest wounds—both physical and psychological—and where we hold & sustain them.

There is beauty in our Chiron placement which also describes our compassion, empathy and, in our understanding of our wounds, how we are capable of helping in the healing of others. As we experience our wounds we gain direct knowledge of how that experience feels, making it easier to help others through similar pain & wounds. That is the gift of Chiron.

In the sky (not in our charts) Chiron is located in between Jupiter (Sag) & Saturn (Cap) – (Jupiter – expanding our knowledge/Sag & a state of Initiation (Capricorn/Saturn). Chiron is a wounded healer in between worlds. The pain itself leads to understanding which leads to healing.

Jupiter is the reality of the heart & Saturn is the day to day tending of self – each moment asking ourselves “What do I need? What do others around me need? What wounds are being exhibited? Help me to have the strength & courage to tend to both”.

We ponder on these things today. And thus we work with the prevailing energies. We we work with the energies we become more & more aware, we evolve. When we contact these energies, thru knowledge of their wisdom, we too become wise. And able to join the Forces of Light, offering our gifts to the new era of Aquarius. Risa
