Candlemas Day –
We bring candles to church to be blessed & then used for the rest of the year.
Candlemas – February 2 – Between Winter & Spring.
A hopeful day today. – we begin to look over our seed catalogues, or seeds left over from last year & begin to plan our gardens.

Today is –
Candlemas Day. February 2, 2023.
2/2/23 = 9 – the ending of something, preparing
for the Initiation of something new –
Purification (mikvah) Day (Mary). Baptism (Holy Child).
Cross Quarter Day – six more weeks of winter here in our northern latitudes (says the Groundhog).
For some of us…
We take down our Christmas trees.
And create our Valentine’s Tree.
I’s also the 2nd day of St. Brigid’s feast day.

Cancer moon today – we are to nurture & nourish the self and others with intelligence, as in a ritual (Rays 3 & 7).
Sun, Saturn in Aquarius. Mercury & Pluto in Capricorn.
Venus in Pisces. Mars in Gemini. Jupiter & Chiron in Aries.

Upcoming
Full moon Sunday – we begin our preparations today.
Three days before (preparing), three days after (distributing) –
And on the full moon day (Gathering the Light).
It is the Aquarius solar festival Snday – 16.41 degrees Aquarius.
Our task as the NGWS under Aquarius….
“Waters of Life we are (as the NGWS), pouring forth the waters of life for a thirsty humanity.”

From the Tibetan on new & full moon times-
“Individual approach to the new & full moons…when energies (Light) not available other times, flow into the Earth for the upliftment & evolution of humanity –
– must be merged into a Group Approach, and the approach
of Groups will someday be superseded by the organized approach of humanity as a whole – humanity recognizing they are the World Disciple who Serves & then Saves”.

National Holidays
Candlemas Day – cross quarter day.
St. Brigid’s Day.
Imbolc – pagan festival heralding spring is near.
River & Wetlands Day.
Optimist Day & Self Renewal Day.
End of Mexican American War – 1848.

We light our candles. Place them in windows.
The light greets passers by, offering hope
in the darkness of the Kali Yuga.
