And to counteract yesterday’s study of hate.
We have an Epiphany of words from Thomas Merton (at the end).
Class remains in session today.
Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
This is our school, college, university, Ashram of Learning.
And so…today is Tuesday, Ray 6, Mars day.
Virgo Sun & Gemini moon continues.
Mercury rules Gemini & Virgo.
Mercury is Hermes, the Messenger.
Mercury is retrograde in Leo – a burning ground of information.
Hermeneutics – Quest for Meaning.
And so…learning & understand a new word.
My favorite word, actually!
Hermeneutics** – an interesting word.
From the word Hermes, Mercury, the Divine Messenger.
A word that I love to use – What does it mean?
“to interpret – interpreting a text, a phrase, a philosophy, a belief, teachings, etc – interpretation of words, language, written or spoken.”
Yesterday we entered into a text & we responded to it.
We were trying to understand the writers intentions.
What did it mean? Why was it sent?
And so…
To those who responded yesterday.
Everyone’s response was exceptional.
Thank you everyone for your responses.
So intelligent, thought out, respectful.
**In Greek mythology, Hermes was the God of many things, including language and writing. He was every English teacher’s dream. The word hermeneutics means the interpretation of language, whether written or spoken. Generally, hermeneutics is an activity that interests biblical scholars, and the word is sometimes used in philosophy as well. If you enjoy sitting in a library poring over the same book for hours from every angle, then you will love hermeneutics.
As a scientific method, Hermeneutics describes the process of analyzing and interpreting written text and imagery to understand the text and the creator’s underlying intentions.
A quote to counteract our deconstruction of hate yesterday.
Our next study will be of Love….Risa
“Then it was as if I suddenly saw the secret beauty of their hearts, the depth of their hearts where neither sin nor knowledge could reach, the core of reality, the person that each one is in the eyes of the divine. If only they could see themselves as they really are, if only we could see each other that way all the time, there would be no more war, hatred, greed, or cruelty. I suppose the big problem would be that we would fall down and worship each other.” ~ Thomas Merton’s Epiphany
