The Festival
The dream, the legend, the story.
Stories are important. They touch the hearts of humanity. They work with Rays 2, 4, 6 – indigenous peoples teach in stories, in myths, legends and symbols. Stories touch the feminine receptive aspects of humanity – the plane of emotions, of feeling, (6th plane in the Constitution of Man) which reflects the Buddhic (4th) plane of enlightenment.
The Buddha is the Lord of Enlightenment, Ray 4 of Harmony.
The Buddha remains with humanity for eight minutes – reflecting his teachings on the Eight Fold Path of Enlightenment.

The Legend and story of Wesak is as follows:
There is a valley, lying at a rather high altitude in the foothills of the Himalayan-Tibet ranges. It is surrounded by high mountains on all sides except towards the northeast, where there is a narrow opening in the mountain ranges. The valley is bottle-shaped in contour, with the neck of the bottle to the northeast, and it widens very considerably towards the south.

Up towards the northern end, close to the neck of the bottle, there is to be found a large flat rock. The valley is covered with trees and shrubs and a golden coarse grass, and the sides of the mountains, protecting the valley, are covered with trees.

The valley is hidden from sight to most. However, for & true dedicated seekers, it becomes available and appears just prior to the full moon.
And so, at the time of the full moon occurring in the month of Taurus, pilgrims from surrounding districts and from all over the world begin to gather together; holy men and women as well as disciples and Adepts find their way into the valley filling the southern and the middle parts of the valley leaving the northeastern end relatively free.

There, so the legend runs, in the hours leading up to the full moon time, gather a group of Great Beings Who are called the Custodians on Earth of God’s Plan, custodians for our planet and for humanity. They each have names.
We know them as Christ (Maitreya), Master Morya, Master Koot Humi, Master Serapis, Master Jesus, Master Hilarian, Master Mary, Master Count St. Germain, etc. to name a few.
(the title of “master” means they have “mastered the Earth plane Mystery School & have chosen to remain with us, assisting in our evolution).

With their wisdom, love and knowledge, these Great Lords stand as a protective shield around humanity, and seek to lead us on, step by step (as They Themselves were led in Their time)….
From darkness to light, from the unreal to the real, and from death to immortality., from chaos to Beauty. These of Knowers of Divinity are the main participants in the Wesak Festival, in direct connection with the Buddha.

And so, they all arrange Themselves in the northeastern end of the valley, and in concentric circles (according to the status and grade of Their initiatory development) prepare Themselves for a great act of service.
In front of the rock, looking towards the northeast, stand Three Great Lords – Those Beings Who are called by their disciples as:
1. the Christ Maitreya – the World Teacher of Love, Who stands in the center;
2. the Lord of Living Forms, the Manu, Who stands on His right; 3. the Mahachohan, Lord of Civilization, Who stands on His left. These three face the rock, upon which there rests a great crystal bowl full of water & the Rod of Power.

Behind the grouped Masters are the Adepts, Initiates and senior workers working under God’s plan, and next to them are the world disciples and aspirants in their various grades and groups (either “in the body or out of the body”), all of whom constitute at this time the Light Workers of the World (New Group of World Servers).

There are also those present in their physical bodies who have found their way there by ordinary means. Others are present in their spiritual bodies and in the dream state. The “dream” which they later relate–it is physical recognition and the recollection of an inner spiritual happening.

As the hour of the full moon approaches, a stillness settles down upon the crowd, and all look towards the northeast. A specific ritual of movement begins, quite like a slow moving dance – symbolic geometrical shapes are made by the bodies of the Great Ones. The grouped Masters and Their disciples of all ranks take up symbolic positions, and form on the floor of the valley significant symbols – circles, triangles, circles w/ a point at the center, a six pointed star, a five-pointed star, with the World Teacher of Love always standing at the highest point or at the center. (see shapes in graphics)
There is the shape of a triangle, with the World Teacher of Love at the apex; or a cross, and other symbolic formations, all of which have a deep and potent significance, meaning and the power of Invocation. This is all done to the sound of chanted words, ohms, and esoteric phrases (mantrams). Many in the crowd join in with the Ohms.

The expectancy in the waiting, onlooking crowd becomes very great, and the tension is real and increasing. Through the entire body of people there is felt a stimulation or potent vibration which has the effect of awakening the souls of those present. This stimulation creates a fusing and blending of the group into one united whole, and lifting all into a great act of spiritual demand, readiness, and expectancy. It is the climax of the world’s aspiration, focused in this waiting group. These three words -Demand, Readiness and Expectancy– describe the atmosphere surrounding those present in this secret valley.

As the moment grows nearer to the moment of the Full moon, the Great Ones along with the people say these words….

“We are ready Lord Buddha! Come!”

And so, the chanting and the rhythmic weaving grows stronger, and all the participants and the watching crowd raise their eyes towards the sky in the direction of the narrow part of the valley.
Just before the exact time of the full moon, in the far distance, a tiny speck of light can be seen in the sky. It comes nearer and nearer, growing in clarity and definiteness of outline, until the form of the Buddha can be seen.
He is seated in the cross-legged Buddha position, clad in saffron-colored robe, bathed in light and color with His hand extended outward in blessing.

When the Buddha arrives at a point exactly over the great rock, hovering there in the air over the heads of the three Great Lords, a great mantram, used only once a year, at the Festival, is intoned by the World Teacher of Love, and the entire group of people in the valley fall to their knees.

This Invocation sets up a great vibration, a spiritual thought current of such potency that it reaches up from the group of aspirants, disciples or initiates to God the Father, the Lord o of the World Himself. And this potent vibration marks the supreme moment of intensive spiritual effort affecting the entire rest of the year, and creates a spiritual vitalization within humanity.
The spiritual effects touch all of Earth’s kingdoms & last throughout the succeeding months.

This is a real actual occurrance, a cosmic as well as an Earth event.
The effect of this blessing and the Great Invocation is universal and cosmic, and serves to link humanity with that cosmic center of spiritual force from which all created beings have come.
From the Buddha, a blessing is poured forth from the Lord of the World, and the World Teacher of Love–as the Representative of humanity–receives it in trust, radiates some of it to humanity & keeps the rest in safeguarding for distribution at the Gemini Festival.

Thus, so the legend runs, the Buddha returns once a year to bless the world, transmitting through the World Teacher of Love renewed spiritual life. Slowly then the Buddha recedes into the distance, until again only a faint speck can be seen in the sky, and this eventually disappears.

The ceremonial blessing, from the time of the first appearance in the distance until the moment the Buddha fades out of view, takes eight minutes (for the Buddha’s Eight-fold Path of Enlightenment).

The Buddha’s annual sacrifice for humanity (for He comes back only at great cost) is over, and He returns again to that high place where He works and waits. Year after year He comes back in blessing; year after year the same ceremony has taken place. Year after year He and His great Brother, the World Teacher of Love, work in the closest cooperation for the spiritual benefit of humanity.

Focused in these two great Sons of God are two aspects of divine life (wisdom & love

) and They as Brothers act together as Custodians of the highest type of spiritual force to which our humanity can respond.

Through the Buddha, the wisdom of God is poured forth. Through the World Teacher of Love, the love of God is manifested to humanity; and it is this wisdom and this love which pour forth upon mankind each Wesak Festival Buddha full moon.

When the Buddha has again disappeared the crowd rises to their feet; the water in the crystal bowl is distributed in tiny portions to the Masters, initiates and disciples, and They then go Their way to the place of service.
The crowd, who have all brought their little cups and vessels of water, drink of them, and share with others.

Waters of Life – Aquarian Communion
In this beautiful “water ceremony of communion” we have presented for us, in symbol, an indication of the New Age which is today upon us, the Aquarian Age, the age of the Water Carrier. Aquarius is the age of the “man bearing a pitcher of water,” as the World Teacher of Love (Christ said at the Last Supper) said in preceding the communion service which He initiated.

In this ceremony we are offered the story of the universality of God’s love, the need for our individual purification, and the opportunity to share with each other that which belongs to all. The water, which has been magnetized by the presence of the Buddha and of the World Teacher of Love, carries certain properties and virtues of a healing nature. Thus blessed, the crowd silently disperses; the Masters and the disciples return with renewed strength, to undertake another year of world service.

Note to readers.
During the time of meditation as this real event takes place in our world. it is good to sit in silence, eyes closed, visualizing the story & all of its components along with the precipitation of the buddha’s presence. The story above allows us to visualize & be present in our hearts with everyone in the Wesak Valley. We will be there with you. Also, draw the shapes – using colors. At the end we will recite the Great Invocation together. We then drink a small cup of the blessed waters. The rest of the waters are left in the garden for the animal & plant kingdoms. Or bottled & safeguarded to be used for the Gemini Festival next month.
