Journey Into Egypt
A deep & hidden mystery.
Every form, every symbol, every story reveals step by step a hidden life. Every form and every symbol veils a mystery.
Certain tasks must be undertaken to unveil the mystery so that wisdom is revealed.
This is the Soul’s story and need in every human.

Today, the day after Epiphany.

On the Way to Egypt.
An angel came to Joseph the night of Epiphany, and also, the Magi spoke with Joseph, father of Jesus, they alerted Jesus to take the Holy Family to Egypt and to leave in the middle of the night, hidden & undercover.
The angels & also the star would guide, lead & protect them on their journey.
Herod, ruler of Judea (area where Jesus was born), heard of a holy child’s birth who it was prophecied would be a “king”, was afraid this child, Jesus, would replace him in power, so he had all the male children recently born to be killed. Thus the reason for the Holy Family’s journey to Egypt.
However there is a much deeper mystery here.
The journey to Egypt contains a deep mystery.
It has to do with Zarathustra & the Egyptian & Hermetic & Hebrew teachings.
The journey to Egypt was difficult for the Holy Family.
They journeyed in the shadow of danger each day. It was cold and there was often no where to rest in the cold night’s darkness.

The Holy Family remained in Egypt till the danger was over.
But there is a deeper mystery in the journey & stay in Egypt.
A gathering of forces & teachings from ancient times.

On another level, the holy birth is a symbol of the Soul’s awakening within each of us. When this occurs, we are in a state of a “new birth” – which is the 1st Initiation – the personality aware of the Soul, seeking the Soul & calling forth the Soul.
The Holy Child & the Christ are the Soul & the Spirit within.

The birth of the holy child, Jesus, was a turning point in the history of humanity – having reaches a level of darkness, after the Atlantean floods, and a new era beginning, the past (involutionary arc, into matter), preparing for its reorientation towards the evolutionary arc (return to spirit), a new epoch & a new age (from the Age of Aries to the new Age of Pisces, from BC to 0AD) began). Aries was the Age of fire & of the Law (10 Commandments given to Moses & the Hebrew people) As the Piscean Age began, we shifted from the Age of the Laws & from fire to the Age of the Waters, the Fishes & to the Law of Love.

Remember what I wrote yesterday about the anchoring of Love.

Upcoming (further understandings)
Birth & Baptism are two beginning Initiations for humanity.
All the events in the life of Jesus & of the Christ (two Beings) are teachings outlining the life of every humanity being – ups, downs, change, sadness, sorrow, joy, happiness, love, learnings & the Path ahead.

On February 2nd (Candlemas) – Presentation in the Temple – the holy child is presented in the temple & given to the priests for baptism. Mary is given a sacred bath at that time, purifying her for her further care of the holy child.
Baptism is of two elements – one is water (purification, Mary purified in the holy waters) & of fire (where the Soul force within us is vivified, strengthened by a burning ground (tests & trials). “Into each life some rain must fall.
Some days must be dark & dreary.” (Longfellow). As humanity we experience times of sorrow & suffering (Saturn) & this strengthen & fortifies us. We learn the lessons of faith, patience & poise in the face of change.

Initiations
Birth – a new life emerges, into form, then the birth of the Soul’s presence.
Baptism – firs, a purifying process then a spiritualizing process.
Transfiguration – when the essence of our spiritual selves is realized.
Crucifixion – Renunciation – when the Soul, that has protected us, realizes our personality is strong & poised & can withstand the fires of God – the Soul steps aside. This can feel like a “dark night of the Soul.”
There are three more Initiations after the Crucifixion.
We are not there yet.
