Spring Equinox 2026 – Calling Nature Out of Its Slumber

Friday is spring equinox, Sun entering Aries, sign all things new for the new year. Equinoxes are times when the light and dark are equal. There is a balance, an equilibrium between heaven and earth, spirit and matter (Father and Mother). Experiencing equilibrium is most important for humanity. Thus equinox days are to be festival days, celebrating harmony and balance.

Spring Equinox is also International Astrology Day. Astrology is the study of the writing of God, in plain sight in the heavens. God writes in symbols, stars, planets, moons and solar systems. It is a magical art and science. Astrology is humanity’s roadmap, helping us remember our true identity, why we are here, our purpose and dharma and how to traverse this land called Earth, especially at this critical time. Astrology is a language of cycles and symbols, archetypes, and sacred geometry. It lights up our soul.

On the equinox, Friday, March 20th, Mercury, God’s messenger, retrograde for three weeks, stations direct at 8 degrees Pisces. Mercury and the Sun become one at times.

And so, imitating the rhythms of ancient traditions, as spring equinox dawns, as the Sun settles for three days at the equator, resting along the way on its northern-ward journey, here in the northern latitudes, we call all of nature out of its wintery slumbering sleep. We call upon the nature spirits, the builders of nature, to help everything grow tall and green, wild and full of life.

We stand in the sun, the wind, the air, and align with nature, with the elements, the sky and earth, reaching out with our hearts to all growing things. We call forth and thus summon the growth of nature all around us. That they have a prosperous new year, bearing their leaves, flowers, branches, and fruit. We forage plants, vines, seed pods, leaves, fashioning crowns and wear them for the day.

We celebrate together, feel joy, build fires. Offering each other warm food and drinks. Thus we share in the intelligent living, fragrance, beauty and sustenance of the earth. We recognize the violet and green devic kingdom, nature’s builders. We pray that spring and summer’s harvests are full. We know Earth is a magical land built with magical words. And so we help winter to end, calling it out of its quiet sleep.

Aries	March 21 – April 19: The issues you’re facing have to do with being more thoughtful and considering shared things – like money and possessions and belongings. Perhaps you think it all belongs to you. At first, maybe. The issues are also about things close and intimate, serious things like knowing you need a change from the usual ways of being. It’s been a long winter and you’ve been busy. It’s time to take a few days away in retreat and solitude before beginning things anew. Where would that be?
Taurus	*April 20 – May 20:* You’re compelled to accomplish the work of multiple people. Even when the situation is unbearable you push right through. Are you tending to health concerns and providing yourself the same (or more) care you show to others? Perhaps not. I want to engage you in a discussion about your health and ask that this become a primary focus for several years. Saturn will help. Saturn actually helps, disciplines, and demands it. Consider red light therapy.
Gemini	*May 21 – June 20:* Beyond relationship, health and work issues, personal issues, you’re realizing the changes occurring in our world are for everyone and they are deeply significant. You question what your position, place and actual work will be in these changes. How you can assist in creating humanity’s future. Perhaps you can answer several questions. What inspires you? What revolution(s) would you be part of? What does revolution mean to you? You begin to dream of order and organization, stability and unity among all peoples. Gemini has a deep well of love within.
Cancer	*June 21 – July 22:* Are you finding many things simple yet very complex at the same time? Profound change in your thinking is occurring daily. New and vital information, not understood by most, turns into insightful and weighty realizations. You become more and more visible to the world and in the public. Later, with acceptance, this will make more sense. Tend to what hurts. Think a bit about travel, by boat, ship, car or by air. Other cultures are calling to you for an adventure, perhaps a pilgrimage. Where would you want to explore?
Leo	*July 23 – August 22:* Continue to build, construct, architect, formulate, plan and craft your artistic and creative endeavors. Carve out solitary time where there are no interruptions and a long flow of time to accomplish great amounts of work. You remain both in the world and yet a bit hidden and away from the world, both of which are good for you at this time. Be careful with activities. Be present and aware of using your hands with care. Virgo	*August 23 – September 22:* If you feel you’re lost in clouds of unknowing even while walking from room to room, if you can’t seem to find things it’s because your usual direct and focused mind is being influenced by Neptune, god of the waters, of fogs, veils and blinds. Things may dissolve so they later can be refined, uplifted and spiritualized. In communicating, realize you think and talk ceaselessly in order to understand yourself more clearly. The planets are influencing your relationships. Be of love a bit more careful.
Libra	September 23 – October 22: You try to discipline yourself at times, because so often you simply feel in a state of chaos and conflict. Or at other times, you have no discipline. Discipline helps you move forward with more clarity. Conflict and chaos function like rainstorms, washing away dust and debris. You want to express your authentic self but recently have found it difficult. So you’re quiet, still, in retreat a bit and silent. This isn’t easy. Find something or someone you can quietly serve. Make a point of stabilizing your relationship. I can tell you’re thinking of parties for the upcoming Easter festival. Or maybe it’s Passover.
Scorpio	October 23 – November 21: You are completely and vitally busy in daily life and with being creative, which brings you out and about in the world. And so, you are here, there and everywhere. With so many realities summoning you it’s difficult to decide how to accomplish it all and actually you simply can’t. So the reality becomes choosing which actions to focus upon, when and where. And then how to hide away while still being in the world. You wonder who to trust, and what you creatively expect of yourself. You’re conflicted (not new). That focus will come…and go. And come again
Sagittarius	*November 22 – December 21:* It’s possible you’ve come to the end of a long road where transformation was the only experience you understood and you raged against it. If you think back the previous ten years, you’re now a very different person. You’ve been considering new forms of work in the world. In time (during a transit) everything will make sense. These issues take a long time to form. While you’re waiting, be kind. It’s a magnetic attractive force. Tend to family with loving care. And consider what your next creative field will be. You are an artist.
Capricorn	December 22 – January 19: There are so many things to tend to, so many people needing your intelligent care and then so many new things to accomplish at home, with family and friends. And some very internal issues are coming forth also. What’s occurring with relationships? As you attempt to move forward, deep feelings, emotions and several wounds are felt. They’re here and then they’re gone to reappear later, again and again. Feelings of vulnerability occur with others. What to do? The answer is to love more. Your heart to their heart (magic happens). Begin to eat a solid (protein, veggies) breakfast to stabilize metabolism.
Aquarius	January 20 – February 18: o many thoughts, ideas, plans and purposes swirl around and through your mind. You ponder upon new and unusual projects, places to visit, people to meet.
