The Lion & the Virgin – Leo/Virgo

Leo is the lion of the zodiac, a fiery dramatic being of great love and creativity, always creating in order to come to knowledge of self. Leo’s task is to leave the waters of mass consciousness (Cancer) and enter into a state awareness of divine individuality (I am the Soul, I am what I create, the stage before group awareness). In entering this new state of divine individuality and greater self-awareness, Leos need praise & recognition.

During the month of Leo, not only are we all Leos, but love flows unimpeded into the Earth. Love’s origin is Sirius, the blue/white star left of Orion. Love flows from Sirius to Leo to the heart of the Sun and directly into the hearts of humanity. This love creates the Goodwill humanity is to radiate, the primary component for peace on Earth. There is only one way to peace (from Ageless Wisdom teachings.). 1. Intentions and actions of Goodwill create 2. Right Relations (with all kingdoms) which then creates 3. the process of ongoing active Peace on Earth – an esoteric equation.

After Leo’s dramatic fiery reality, Virgo’s practical earth appears. Often shyer than we think, determined to be orderly and systematic, a thinker and analyzer, Virgo (as matter, humanity’s life in form) quietly holds new states of awareness (the Soul). During the month of Virgo, we are all Virgos. Leo and Virgo are dramatically different, have two different tasks to perform, and while one talks incessantly (Virgo, in order to organize her thinking), the other longs to be famous (on some level, somewhere, sometime in someone’s mind, in the world).

Virgo (the mother) is often depicted with an ear of corn, a sheaf of wheat, a branch with fruits in her arms. She is Ceres in the garden tending to Persephone. Virgo is daily life, service to self and others, small animals, but primarily Virgo is health. In the past year, new information about the health of humanity and its children have been in the news. In the past years food prices have been rising. Difficult for humanity.

As Leo gives way to Virgo, as the light changes to a golden hue, we realize Autumn is soon. Humanity entering more deeply into the dark half of the year. In farms and fields, golden pumpkins, globes of fire, are ripening. Each of us begins to prepare for autumn as we tend to our Temple gardens.

Aries	March 21 – April 19: In the next several years, how you participate in relationships will change. You might find yourself in conflict with those close to you. Remember in all conflicts there is the inner heart of harmony attempting to emerge. Or there will be a need for deeper understanding with intimates. You may marry or separate, seek new partnerships, find a partner or seek to be solitary while learning about commitment, compromise and everything concerning I/Thou. Truth holds you.
Taurus	*April 20 – May 20:* Perhaps something has changed with your relationships and interactions with others. Perhaps more love and intimacy is the result, the Soul of the matter. Perhaps you’ve defined more clearly how you want to live your life. Now there’s more responsibility with work (world work and spiritual work), overwhelming at times for often you are working alone. Then there’s everything not tended to from the past four or more or maybe twenty years. It all sits there, waiting. A huge cleaning and clearing arebeing called for. Health wise, too. You must take care.
Gemini	*May 21 – June 20:* A great gift will begin to unfold. Gradually you will come to know the answers to your life long questions. You have asked what love is and what motivates, encourages and provides you with confidence. You will also begin to express yourself in newer creative ways. This will entertain you while simultaneously providing knowledge of your purpose, identity, gifts, and why you’re different. You are a teacher in the fields of the Lord. The Dweller turns into the Angel of Presence. Study this.
Cancer	*June 21 – July 22:* Your home. It’s changing or going to change or you’re going to move or add to it or abandon or beautify it or house a family (humans or animals, sheep, cows, deer) or… Whatever it is, home is your foundation, identity, roots of being and family lineage. It’s where you came from with all past attachments you dearly love. It’s filled with karma, too, the universal organizing principle – a good thing. Reorganization must begin soon, internally and externally. Family responsibilities increase. You may not feel brave. But you’re constant steady and stable. The family’s grateful.
Leo	*July 23 – August 22:* With Saturn and Neptune in Aries, you are coming into a new state of self-recognition and identity, a new state where you grow into your true self. You and others will acknowledge how well you communicate, always with kindness and goodwill. Simultaneously, gather and disseminate information, know what your mental skills are, assess what you know and what you don’t. You will feel somber and at times concerned about time and the effectiveness of your efforts. You will eliminate what’s unnecessary, organize and become more efficient and realistic. And maybe take in (more) cats and dogs.
Virgo	*August 23 – September 22:* You will assess feelings of self-worth and wonder how valuable you are. Seeking to know this from the outer world does not produce an adequate evaluation. Seeking the real self means you must encounter your deep religious and spiritual self. It’s always there, patient and waiting. You may feel unsupported, discouraged at times for you do work very hard at everything. You will be challenged to create a new sense of self-confidence and worthiness. There is a group that supports your well-being. They see, hear and love you. They are your garden in the temple, quite like Masonry of old, yet newer and up to date. They sing to you.
Libra	September 23 – October 22: It’s important to you how others “see” you. It’s important to know you appear as cultured, intelligent, a loving and caring friend. Are you pondering upon death and aging? The thought of aging and death (a great adventure, a liberation) are serious thoughts. Mingled with these thoughts will be a stronger sense of self beginning to emerge along with a greater sense of self-confidence. Inner strength will develop and all illusions will cease. Especially in terms of you and family. Anything superficial will disturb and distress you. A new foundation is forming concerning future work. Slow down a bit. Catch the afternoon sunlight, an artform.
Scorpio	October 23 – November 21: The contemplative life becomes a goal these days, a form of slowing down and finding solace, quiet and a retreat from the world. They allow time to assess your past, recognize who you are, all that you’ve accomplished (or haven’t) and all you hope to do. A cycle has come to a close. A new foundation, reason to be and new cycle of life begins. Everything behind the scenes begins to clear up so all that is new and beginning will have no dark mysteries, no past that needs of completion. You will be grateful for this. It will take time. You have time eternal.
Sagittarius	*November 22 – December 21:* You’ve been so responsible to the outer world, developing your social and professional standing. Your entire life has been a teaching – for yourself and others. Now you begin to scrutinize personal goals, aspirations and ask serious questions like who are my friends, my groups, my colleagues and peers. Anything superficial will be eliminated (slowly). The casual will not be worthy of your time. Saying the “right thing” no longer occurs to you. Only speaking in the tones of goodwill will be seen as useful. You seek serious friendships & affiliations and learn what truly contributes to your happiness and joy. It’s a journey, with both perils and joys. Study Shamballa.
Capricorn	December 22 – January 19: You are the leader of the zodiac, a leadership different than Aries. Capricorn completes the journey up the mountain to the rising Sun. Aries begins the journey, seeking the right shoes. You find solid shoes, build the ladder, climb it, and from there create with others, the new civilization. Then you go into self-evaluation, at times finding yourself lacking. This is normal. However, your conclusions (lacking) are incorrect. Self-evaluation is good, allowing you to know where and how to proceed. As you build a foundation know that, should you fall from your heights, there’s a stylish cushion of colors below to catch you fall.
Aquarius	January 20 – February 18: These become your questions in life for several years. What do I believe in (Neptune) and what are my goals (Capricorn)? What have I learned (Gemini) and what do I care about (Taurus). What future (Aquarius) am I hoping for and what gifts (Leo) do I provide others? What drives me, what do I want to learn and what don’t I know? Does what I presently do reflect my personal philosophy of life? Do I have a philosophy of life? If yes, what is it? If no, then how I do go about my day to day, with what underlying faith, hope and/or vision sustains me?
Pisces	February 19 – March 20: Outer world pressures, perhaps great lack of some things, turn you inward to encounter your hopes, wishes and dreams…your desires, aspirations, and attachments. How you were able to control your life and environment is no longer available or effective. At first there is confusion, then adaptability takes over. However, it is not comfortable and there are moments of crisis. There is a need for emotional freedom and a challenge emerges. You will struggle toward liberation. Have faith. Or hope.
