Today – Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Our day of rest, looking back on the past week.
Looking forward to the next.
Noticing we enter October on Wednesday –
And at sundown at the first star seen at the beginning of a new day in the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur, the Jewish festival begins (for one day, sunset to sunset). It is the Day of Atonement (At One Ment).
Did we forgive? Do we forgive? Did we ask forgiveness?
We still have time.

Today we ponder upon the past & the future while resting in the present. A Vesica Piscus sort of day.

If one feels alone, look to the stars (Emerson).
Studying the stars is a form of wisdom across cultures and throughout history. In ancient societies, observing the night sky was fundamental to developing spiritual, philosophical, and practical knowledge. Even in the modern era, the cosmic perspective continues to shape our understanding of our existence. The ancient ones, the Rishis, sat together in meditation and contemplated the heavens. From the cosmos, impressed upon their minds & hearts comes the Ancient Wisdom Teachings.

For ancient civilizations, the careful observation of the stars was a form of practical wisdom that allowed them to navigate, plan, and organize their lives.
Mapping the world: Ancient astronomers, such as the Babylonians and Polynesians, used the stars as a celestial map for navigation and to create the first calendars for agricultural planning. This knowledge was essential for society to survive and thrive.
Understanding cycles: The study of celestial cycles provided guidance for human life, connecting daily events to a larger, rhythmic cosmic order.
Symbolic meaning: Stars were seen as ancient symbols representing guidance, hope, and destiny. For example, the eight-pointed “Star of Wisdom” found in antique carpets was a symbol for the valuable, innate wisdom people possessed.
Informing philosophy and spirituality
The cosmos has long been a source of philosophical inquiry, shaping our ideas about reality and existence.
Cosmic order: The ancient Greek philosophers, including Plato, believed the universe was based on mechanical and mathematical principles that reflected a divine and harmonious cosmic order. Studying this order was an act of wisdom.
Spiritual growth: In modern spirituality, some believe that understanding the patterns of the planets and constellations helps unlock “inner wisdom” and promotes self-awareness. The universe is seen as a source of energy that flows through and guides us.
Deepening knowledge: The ancient Egyptians credited the god Thoth with not only the invention of writing but also the calculations for the creation of the heavens and stars. The Greeks further expanded this idea, linking the study of the stars to the invention of various branches of knowledge, from mathematics to theology.

Now we know more. Looking up to the stars, we ponder all these things. love, Risa ⭐🌙💛
