At the Madonna del Sasso (Sacred Mountain) Catholic Church in Salinas (down the road, over the fields from Natividad….
Matthew’s name will be said aloud at all the Masses.
And the people together will pray for him.

The Catholic Masses are at 7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm & 5pm.

Prayers for Matthew streaming out from the church & spiraling through the air into Matthew room, circling his body, bringing a calmness, a hope, a healing, a love & a strength to Matthew.

“Ask & it (we) shall receive.” Luke 11-8

The need to pray without giving up, prayer without ceasing.
The Parable of the Friend at night. Everyone asleep in the village & a lone wanderer comes to the door of a family that is asleep & asks for bread for another. And eventually that which the wandered asks for is given, even though it is midnight, an inconvenient hour of the night. The wanderer was persistent in his need & his asking. This story was given in the bible after Jesus the Christ taught the Our Father, the Atlantean world prayer. Today we join with the parishioners of Madonna del Sasso in prayers for Matthew. Turning worries into prayers.

Update, Day 23, July 23, Saturday evening.
Matthew’s word today. He said ‘heart breaking.”

He seems to be trying to cry. He also said “water.” So drops of water are dripped into his mouth.
Drip Drip Drip. Like drops of Jupiter.
His CT scan is clear. He moved his left arm.
Playing music for Matthew, he mouths the words. He seems to see shadows that pass by. He follows them.
Matthew improves incrementally each day.
Baby steps. We have all the time in the world, Matthew.
We offer you our hearts, our strength, our hope, our time & our love – our presence. So in the end it is no longer “heart breaking”.

Mercury trine Jupiter – expanding our communication to include many others.
Therefore thoughts of opening up our healing group for prayers for Matther.

Notes – Prayers & Transits – Transits for Matthew – Saturn/Venus on Monday the 25th – one feels fatigued. Uranus/Mars on the 28th. This can create agitation, anxiety. It could also be when a new activity occurs for Matthew. I am going to create a time of prayer for everyone to join in. A time of prayer every evening, most likely. A prayer to watch over Matthew each night, establish rest & healing for the night, & preparations for the next day ahead. Evening prayers are called Evensongs. There are evening prayers in every religion – In the Jewish religion they are called Ma’ariv (evening); In Islam they are called Maghrib (“sunset prayers – for many this is when the new day begins), in the Catholic church they are called Vespers (Vesper means “evening”). Inviting everyone to participate. Meeting together as the sun sets…for prayer. For Matthew. Stay tuned. Risa (Note: if morning prayers are best for timing I will change it to morning prayers).

Music, frequencies, waves of healing sounds flowing into Matthew’s etheric field, bring vitality, health, livingness, harmony & healing to Matthew. Helping Matthew build new neural pathways in his brain. The therapy of music stimulates these new neural pathways, along with stories, shapes, symbols, sound, color. I played ‘Rappers Delight’ for Matthew today to enliven him and to encourage positivity in his healing process. This was the first rap song that Matthew memorized and recited over and over again when we lived in Hollywood, in 1980.
Matt was 10 when this album was released. I think this was what started his fascination with words, song, music, and verse.
Today Matthews RN was named JOY. Our childhood best friend’s name. A good sign for the day.
While I was with Matthew this morning he was sleepy and restful. Perhaps the brain recovering from trauma. I read to him The Velveteen Rabbit. I also read the many loving messages sent to him from friends of many generations. Matthew has received cards from children, teenagers, adults, and elders.
Matt – a true friend to many.
The occupational therapist worked with Matt today on standing. It took four of us to support and encourage him to stand. He stood on his feet, with assistance, for 18 seconds. It was exhausting for him, but Matt participated, as best as he could.
I could tell that Matt felt a bit down today. I know that he wants to be free and active in the world in every way. I continue to remind my brother to be patient with his mind and body to reconnect and recalibrate. I tell him that this day will come.
I look forward to having a celebratory dance party with Matty Matt and all of his friends. We will play his favorite music and everyone can express their incredible dance moves. I encourage everyone to start practicing. Put on your favorite music and start dancing. I know Matt will be there in his most festive attire. Let’s get ready!

Our last day of Cancer Sun.
Leo Sun begins tomorrow, Friday at 1:07pm west coast time.
On Tuesday last, Chiron retrograded at 16. 26 Aries.

We turn inward, our wounds are reflected upon and then the healing of those wounds. too. Chiron is retrograde in Aries till Christmas. Chiron retrogrades back to 12 degrees Aries.

Chiron – our wounds, our breaking down, then breaking free.
An alchemy of healing taking place, long & slow & enduring.

Matthew – Monday’s update posted on Tuesday.
July 19 – Day 19, Chapter 19.
“I Thirst”, He said (a long time ago).
And they gave Him vinegar & water.
And yesterday, Mathew said, “I need water, sweet water”. And the nurse gave him water.
Matthew is Aquarius, “the waters of life poured forth for a thirsty humanity”, for Matthew. And so he was given water for his thirst.
Cancer rising, Pisces Moon – water signs, Matthew takes in everything that is around him. From the subtle fields.
Pisces moon – Cancer rising. The Savior & the Nurturer, offering nourishment to humanity (friends, a friend to everyone).
Matthew is Aquarius Sun – the Forerunner of the new era.
Prayers flow into Matthew’s etheric field, prayers of healing. It is a critical time for Matthew now.
He has to be strong enough to qualify for Acute Rehabilitation Unit. We hold all the hospital staff in the Ashram, so that they
may have the needed compassion, illumination, understanding, * be adaptable to both Matthew’s stength & the family’s needs.
Doctors say Matthew is right on the borderline for Acute Care. And that Matthew is improving every day..
We call upon flexibility in the decisions for Matthew care.

Matthew is learning how to talk again & it takes a while to learn. Listening to our words is really good for his learning. Matthew works really hard to get each syllable out. So those of us with him, being the receivers of his words helps him have less frustration.
With Matthew yesterday – We will help with his strength and mobility, he just needs time to gain his voice to help him express his wishes. He is trying so so hard.
As I left him there was this beautiful sunset with a hawk and a robin on top of building.
He is part of our hearts now.
He said my name so beautifully today. From facial expression of laughter, frustration, desperation and confusion. Supporting him is the goal. All emotions are valid and real. Love to you
Update: Monday evening.
He is still awake.

Observations:
1. He is trying really hard to use his words. Words come out weak and breathy, but I’m learning them.
2. He has said words and sentences. Such as “I want water, sweet water”. I was able to have the nurse bring some sponge swabs with water. He loved them. Not able to drink for safety of not aspiration.
He said” What kind of place doesn’t serve water”.
Nurse and I laughed
He said my name.
He said “nice to see you” after i said that to him.
I am reading in small batches The Minpins. I think he enjoys it.
He has smiled and tried to laugh.
His vitals are good . No fever.
I use a wet washcloth to wipe his face, head, arms and hands.
RN and I turned him and readjusted his legs. I think he is resting comfortable now. Quite a lot of action so i want him to have enough rest.
5:10pm. I just moved his arms and legs, he is very weak. Want to keep range of motion going.

Monday, a new week ahead.
New revelations, opportunities.
We are in our last week of the Cancer Light.
The Light of the World.
Leo begins on Friday – Sun enters Leo then.
Cancer is the light of form & matter, the dark light of matter
awaiting the Light of the Soul.
And Leo IS the Light of the Soul.
The fire at the Heart of Matter itself.

Today Aries moon – something new occurs.
Mercury opposite Pluto – We think, talk, communicate, speak
of things in depth. Something “over there somewhere” begins
to integrate. At first we reject it. Then we see that it is good.

About Matthew.
Matthew’s sisters will be at the hospital, atalking with the case worker today. Matthew may be moved from Natividad to another care facility. We pray that he be moved to the very best place for his recovery. We pray for Matthew. The next several weeks till the 1st of August may be very challenging for him. We pray that all the energy within him, all the elementals that make up his body work together to make Matthew whole again. Om shanti shanti shanti.

So there can be a CONTINUITY OF CARE for Matthew & most importantly, A CONTINUITY OF KNOWLEDGE for/with/between everyone involved.

Creating….
A Daily Notebook of Observations, etc.
Notebook w/ the Guideline for the different Levels of Cognitive Functioning, etc. (see below)
Observations – Matthew’s movements, sleep, awake, nurses visits, OT PT RT visits, meds, times, etc.
An outline of how to help Matthew when sitting next to him in the hospital room, whether he is resting or awake.

Creating a Continuity of Care & Knowledge.
It offers those wanting to sit with Matthew purpose & a sense of knowing what to do, what they are doing & a sense of responsibility.

Creating from these observations & journal of daily logins, which then creates the updates for the many friends Mathew has (850+) waiting, watching, wondering, hoping to know each day – how Matthew is doing.

It is like a book with Chapters for each day.

The purpose of these observations also, is so we can see a pattern of needs & the pattern of restoration in Matthew.
So we can also observe if anything is needed, anything is out of place that needs to be tended to.
This information helps the family immensely.

What are Cognitive Skills?
Cognition refers to a person’s thinking and
memory skills. Cognitive skills include paying
attention, being aware of one’s surroundings,
organizing, planning, following through on
decisions, solving problems, judgement,
reasoning, and awareness of problems. Memory
skills include the ability to remember things
before and after the brain injury. Because of the
damage caused by a brain injury, some or all of
these skills will be changed.

The Rancho Levels of Cognitive Functioning is
an evaluation tool used by the rehabilitation team.
The eight levels describe the patterns or stages of
recovery typically seen after a brain injury. This
helps the team understand and focus on the
person’s abilities and design an appropriate
treatment program. Each person will progress at
their own rate of healing. The brain takes a long time to heal.
Each level is different.
