Today – the moon is busy in Sagittarius – sign of truth, idealism, philosophy, professors, colleges, universities, publishers & publishing, & pilgrimages.
Mercury trines Jupiter – lots of talk & information. Rays 2 & 4, love rays today – Pisces & Cancer – water elements – Intelligent love today.
Venus sextiles Pluto – we can go to the depths of feeling, the depths of love & to the depths of research.
Sun Mercury Mars in Pisces – our last week of Pisces Sun, the two fishes bound by a silken cord – Pluto (Ray 1 & Pisces soul ruler) breaks them apart. Venus (Ray 5, truth & knowledge & science unifies all that is separate) then puts the two fishes together again, but they are still free. This is esoteric.

40 days & 40 night – Lent – purification of the personality.
40 year pilgrimage by the Hebrews in the wilderness desert – purification of the Hebrew Life Wave – allowing the thoughts of slavery in Egypt to fall away. Preparing for the Promised Land (Canaan).

Old Testament – walking in the desert, 40 years, the Hebrew people – from Taurus to Aries – purifying their Life Waves – directed by Jehovah, by Saturn – building the Tabernacle (like a great tent wherein the tribes gathered & there was prayer) – in the desert thru 40 years, God would come to them in a cloud. When cloud descended, they were to stop & construct the tabernacle. When cloud lifted, disassemble tabernacle & walk forward. While in the desert for 40 years.

Ark of the Covenant (Covenant agreement, bond) – Within the Tabernacle was the Ark of the Covenant. A holy golden container holding the 10 Commandments & the Torah, the Laws for the Aries Age, given to Moses by God. Protected by the Cherubim.
Clouds – bible –
Exodus 40:36 regarding the cloud.

Reading the book Honey From a Weed by Patience Gray (1986 Harper & Row).
A chapter on Edible Weeds, how the people (and many young children) in Tuscany, many places in Europe, in Naxos, Greece, (an ancient Greek colony in the Cycledes – islands in the Aegean Sea), begin to forage for wild bitter weeds in February, March & April. And then again after the first frost.
The author writes many of the weeds belong to the daisy & dandelion family. And the most beneficent is the dandelion – flower, leaves, root.
The more bitter the better. When eaten, they vivify the liver after the cold winter.
Foragers have little knives & foraging sacks, two types of sacks – one holds bitter greens for salads. The other for bitter greens needing to be cooked & boiled in water.
All the weeds have a general name – radicchi – which means wild.

So many names.
Wild leeks, wild garlic, sorrel, plantain & dock.
Much of the medicinal value lies in the root. When the wild bitter weeds are picked, what is picked is only a stub or art of the root. Leaving the rest of the root to regrow the plant for the next season.
Borage, rocket, wild fennel. Wild radish, wild lettuce, burnet.
The names of the wild bitter weeds go on forever.

It’s still winter & a bit cold. I walk outside with my book, sit under the pear tree in the sun & see wild things growing here, there everywhere, new shoots popping up. But I don’t know what they are. And I don’t know how to learn. I wish I could.

My thoughts & feelings of wanting to know reflected in the transits (the heavens today).

Brilliant & a most unusual book w/ stories of her experiences living w/ a sculptor (in search of marble) in the Mediterranean adapting to the ways of the local people, watching, observing, adapting, foraging, learning, often w/ none of the usual kitchen amenities. The writing has an otherworldly quality of another time & place.

Honey From a Weed is a great work, beautifully written, a book that encourages taking the time to read quietly, passages that inspire and inform equally of a life and foods quite unique, far removed from the urgencies and furies of modern life. (The Guardian)

The American chef Samin Nosrat, who gathers her friends every Monday evening for “family dinner,” read Honey in a Weed 12 times when she had a difficult transit. Its words, pictures, ideas, recipes – helped her through the dark shadows of change.

The Truth & Freedom Festival – Purim.
And freedom of the present day people in Iran (ancient Persia).

And so now….on this day…the US has gone to war with Iran (Persia). War times when Mercury Venus came together.
The US & Israel are now at war with Iran.
Saudi Arabia has joined the was on the side of the US & Israel. The Dubai airport is closed. All over Israel the sirens are sounding.
Tehran has been hit & Iran has struck back with missiles aimed at northern Israel and at US military bases in the Middle East.
The strikes were carried out as part of a joint military operation with Israel.
In recent weeks, Washington has assembled a large fleet of fighter jets and warships in the region, its most significant military buildup there since the Iraq War (March 20, 2003 – Dec. 18, 2011). The operation is called Operation Epic Fury.

The stated aim is to eliminate what Washington calls imminent threats from the Iranian government.
The US prez said the campaign’s military objectives include:
~Destroying Iran’s missile capabilities.
~Target Iran’s navy.
~Disrupting Iran-backed armed groups in the region.

He also laid out a warning-with-an-offer to Iran’s military personnel. If they laid down their weapons, the prez said, he would ensure they had amnesty. But if they did not, he warned, they would face “certain death”. He acknowledged US forces could face casualties.

The prez tried to dismantle the CIA outpost & to bring freedom to the people of Iran. The Iranian people have wanted the US prez to free the country.
