Wesak Festival & Mother’s Day
Thursday is Wesak, the Buddha Full moon festival. Here is the video regarding Wesak, for those who have not seen it yet. It is a beautiful video with potent thoughts & ideas that help us participate in Wesak.
I suggest everyone take notes with this video. Also, place a crystal bowl outside in the garden, or on a terrace filled with pure water. This water will receive the Wesak Buddha Christ Lord of the World Blessings which we can later drink, offer to our gardens & to our pets. I also suggest creating a Wesak and/or Three Spring festivals Journal. And write events, thoughts, ideas, preparations before the festivals & afterwards, during our Days of Dedication. And thus, we begin to follow the Noble Eight-fold Path – cultivating right values, aspiration, speech, conduct, art of living, effort, thinking leading to true happiness.
We spend the following days after Wesak integrating the Buddha’s blessing and watering our gardens with Wesak waters. The Wesak festival occurred during the night at 17.20 degrees Taurus. When the Buddha appears, he is accompanied by the Forces of Enlightenment which strengthen the will and wisdom of humanity. During Taurus, with assistance from the Forces of Enlightenment, directed by the Buddha, we are to establish the Art of Living, Right Education, Right Thinking, Right Human Relations and learn to make Right Choices.
Sunday is Mother’s Day, honoring all mothers (fathers who are also mothers), the nurturing principle within all of humanity. With Capricorn moon, Mother’s Day is a practical day. As mothers impart love and intelligence to their children, so does (Mother) Earth attempt to teach us. We remember the 4th Commandment (Aries Law) to “Honor thy Mother & Father.” Many have forgotten this commandment (and the other nine given to humanity through Moses at the beginning of the Aries Age). As parents age they look to their children for the love, care, guidance and companionship. Parent/child positions change. On this Capricorn day we convey (Mercury/Jupiter) love, gratitude and respect (Capricorn) to our mothers.
For those whose mothers have died we recite the Mantram of Compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum. For those emotionally separated from their mothers, we recite the St. Francis of Assisi prayer which establishes goodwill, balance, harmony, understanding and right loving relations with mother. St. Francis, a Libra, is the saint of Right Human Relations. “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.” Note: Sunday begins a week of unusual multiple retrogrades (Saturn, Venus, Jupiter). Life everywhere, turns inward.
